Chinese navigation system now covers the whole Earth

China finalized Tuesday, June 23, thanks to the launch of a last satellite, the 30th of the constellation, its Beidou navigation system (the “Big Dipper” in Mandarin). Beijing can thus cover the whole world and no longer just Asia-Pacific.

What it will change. In addition to traditional guidance applications, Beidou allows the Chinese army to protect itself from a possible American GPS cut-off in the event of a hypothetical conflict with the United States.
