The man reportedly initially tried to hide the marriage and children from his mistress, but when Ye eventually found out that Zhang was a married family man, he decided to leave his wife in February 2020.

According to China’s Supreme Court, reported by the state news agency XinhuaYe is said to have seen his girlfriend’s two children as an “obstacle” and as a “burden for their future life together”.
She is said to have urged Zhang several times to kill the two little ones, and threatened to leave him if he did not do as she asked.
