La Défense uses hundreds of Huawei brand wifi routers. The information is therefore surprising that many warnings have been issued in Belgium about Chinese technologies and possible espionage. Huawei reacted to this information.

L“Cybersecurity and privacy protection are Huawei’s absolute priorities”, declared the Chinese brand the day after revelations about the use by the Belgian Defense of hundreds of its Huawei wifi routers, going against several warnings from State Security on the risk of espionage. “None of our products have caused a major network outage. We have never experienced a serious cybersecurity breach anywhere in the world, including our 20-year presence in Europe,” Huawei continues.
Huawei does not comment on the Chinese security law which obliges all companies in the country to respond to possible requests from the intelligence services. In Belgium, State Security or cybersecurity experts have always raised the “risk of espionage” via Chinese devices, but have never claimed to have evidence of such espionage.
