President Xi Jinping say China will not trigger a bigger conflict related to the war that is still raging between Russia and Ukraine.

This statement came out when Xi spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky via telephone on Wednesday (26/4).

“[China] we won’t just watch shots being fired from one side, or add fuel to the fire, let alone turn the crisis to advantage,” Xi said in the telephone conversation, as quoted from CCTV.

Xi also said China has always been on the side of peace and pushed for peace talks.

In addition, Xi emphasized that when dealing with the nuclear issue, all parties concerned must remain calm, exercise restraint and focus on the future.

“Really focused on the future and their own destiny and humanity, also control and control the crisis,” he said again.

Regarding the conversation, Zelensky said the conversation with Xi was long and meaningful.

“I believe this call, as well as the appointment of Ukraine’s ambassador to China, will provide a strong impetus for building our bilateral relationship,” Zelensky said on Twitter.

The conversation between the two leaders lasted for nearly an hour.

All this time, China is considered a close ally of Russia in the region.

Even during the early days of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, China was reluctant to criticize or impose sanctions on the Red Bear Country.

China also often claims to be a neutral party in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

However, recently China has reportedly sent aid weapons to Russia. This accusation has always been denied by the Beijing government.
