While experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) are conducting an investigation in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, to clarify the origin of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), China has argued that other countries should also investigate.
China has argued that Wuhan is not the source of Corona 19, but the place where the virus was first discovered.
The state-run Global Times reported on the 5th, citing the comments of experts from the National Health Commission (NHC) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
CDC chief researcher Chung Kwang said, “After visiting Wuhan, WHO should conduct virus follow-up studies in other countries as well. We should collect blood samples from patients with pneumonia in 2019 to see if there is anything suspicious.” did.
Lu Hongzhou (盧洪洲), a professor at the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center at Fudan University, argued, “Because Wuhan is not the source of Corona 19, WHO experts will not be able to reveal the origin of the virus unless they go to other countries.”
The newspaper said there was evidence that the virus was found in the United States, Spain, Italy, France, Brazil and India before the first Corona 19 was reported in Wuhan.
“Wuhan is just a station for tracking the origin of Corona 19,” said Feng Dujia (封多佳), head of the China Vaccine Industry Association. “Corona 19 is a global infectious disease, so other countries need to be tracked.”
“We have identified various types of viruses, which means they originate in different places,” said Yang Zan-chu, a professor at Wuhan University’s Virus Research Institute. “We need to trace the origins in many parts of the world.”

Experts urged WHO to select countries for investigation, including the United States, which has the highest number of COVID-19 infections and deaths in the world.

Spokesman Wang added, “We hope that related countries will invite WHO experts to conduct research with an attitude of active cooperation like China, and contribute to international cooperation and realization of human health community.”
