China Successfully Launches Kuaizhou-1A Rocket Sending 15-18 Stars into Predetermined Orbit

China News Service, Beijing, January 5. According to China Aerospace Sanjiang Group, at 19:20 on January 5, the Kuaizhou-1A solid launch vehicle was ignited and lifted off at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China, with “one rocket and four satellites” This method sent 15 to 18 stars of the Tianmu-1 meteorological constellation into the predetermined orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success. This mission is the first launch of the Kuaizhou-1A rocket in 2024, marking a good start for China’s space launches in 2024.

Since March 22, 2023, the Kuaizhou-1A rocket has sent 03~22 stars of the Tianmu-1 meteorological constellation into the predetermined orbit in the form of continuous launches of “5 batches of 20 stars”. At this point, the Tianmu-1 meteorological constellation stage network has been completed, further demonstrating the batch supply capability of the Kuaizhou-1A rocket.

Tianmu-1 meteorological constellation 15~18 stars were developed by the Aerospace Systems Company, a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation. It is mainly used to obtain information on global atmospheric environment elements. After the constellation is completed, it can realize three-dimensional and integrated all-weather ocean, atmosphere, and ionosphere around the world. business detection. After completion, the sun-synchronous orbit sub-constellation of the Tianmu-1 meteorological constellation can obtain more than 25,000 atmospheric profiles every day, continuously and stably providing refined meteorological services for China’s numerical weather forecasting and users in various industries.

The Kuaizhou-1A rocket that performed this launch mission is a small solid launch vehicle launched by China Aerospace Science and Industry Rocket Technology Co., Ltd. It mainly provides launch services for 300-kg low-orbit small satellites and has high flight reliability and entry capabilities. It has the characteristics of high orbit accuracy, short preparation period, less support requirements, and low launch cost. This mission is the 25th flight of the Kuaizhou-1A carrier rocket. (over)
