BEIJING, Feb.5 (Xinhua) – China is ready to deepen cooperation with Indonesia on COVID-19 vaccines and to contribute to Indonesia’s national fight against the epidemic, said on Friday Wang Yi, advisor of COVID-19. Chinese State and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Wang made the remarks during a telephone conversation with Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, the Indonesian government’s coordinator for cooperation with China and coordinating minister.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan have both received the Chinese vaccine against COVID-19, which demonstrated their confidence in China, the Chinese foreign minister also said.
Meanwhile, Wang said, China attaches great importance to Indonesia’s vaccine needs and supports Indonesia’s efforts to build Southeast Asia’s vaccine production center.
For his part, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the Indonesian government and people thank China for its timely offer of vaccines and hope to continue to learn from the Chinese experience in epidemic prevention and control and advance cooperation with China on combating the epidemic.
