China launches global campaign to name its Mars rover

China launched the Tianwen-1 mission to Mars on July 23. The National Space Administration of China (CNSA) announced the next day the launch of a global campaign to give a name to the Mars rover, which so far still does not have one. According to the Center for Lunar Exploration and Space Program of the CNSA, this activity will take place in four stages, namely the submission of names, the selection by a jury of the 10 best names proposed, the selection of the first three names by public vote and finally the final final choice. From now until midnight August 12, participants can submit their nominated names through the Baidu mobile app, the official submission channel, or to the Global Naming Campaign office in paper form.
