LG is releasing its Wing smartphone with a rotating second screen in the United States for $ 999. The device will also be released in the Netherlands and Belgium in the fourth quarter of this year, but the euro price is not yet known.
An American provider has the device included in its range. This shows the price for the first time. It is $ 999 without discounts. The phone will ship in the US from October 15th. Bee the announcement the LG Wing of the device in mid-September was no mention of what the device would cost.
When asked, a spokesperson for LG informs Tweakers that the euro price of the device is not yet known. The LG Wing will be released in the Netherlands and Belgium and that will happen sometime in the fourth quarter. Converted with VAT, the dollar price comes to about 1030 euros.
The LG Wing has a primary screen of 6.8 “with a resolution of 2460×1080 pixels. The screen is rotatable and underneath is a second screen of 3.9” with a resolution of 1240×1080 pixels. Both screens are OLED panels. The second screen can be used to display controls of the camera, for example, or to run a second app.
The device has a primary 64-megapixel camera and two ultra-wide-angle cameras, 13 and 12 megapixels. One of those cameras is used for the so-called Gimbal mode, in which the image is electronically stabilized and it is possible to move the image with an onscreen joystick without moving the phone.
LG provides the Wing smartphone with Android 10, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G-soc with 5G modem and 8GB ram. The device is 10.9mm thick and weighs 260 grams and there is a 4000mAh battery in the housing.
