China is battling the largest COVID-19 outbreak caused by the Delta variant, Reuters reported.
Most of the new cases are in the town of Dalyan in the northeastern part of the country, with the total number of Delta infections there reaching 1308.
This variant of the coronavirus has been detected in 21 provinces and regions in China and although its outbreaks are smaller than in other countries, the authorities are trying to limit them in any way.

The measures include strict follow-up of contacts, repeated testing of people in high-risk areas, closure of entertainment and cultural establishments and restrictions on tourism and public transport.
Several cities around Dalyan announced that will impose a 14-day quarantine on visitors from the settlementto limit infection.
Yesterday, China reported 98,315 new coronavirus infections and 4,636 deaths.
