China has ordered technology giants such as Alibaba, Xiaomi and Huawei: ‘Fenced gardens’ banned – News by sources

The Chinese Ministry of Industry has asked technology companies such as Alibaba and Tencent not to block each other’s web site links on their platforms, the 21st Century Business Herald was quoted as saying on Saturday.

According to sources quoted in the publication, the Ministry of Information Technology and Industry has proposed standard companies for instant messaging services, telling them that all platforms must be unlocked for a certain time.

The ministry has indicated that it could resort to other measures if companies do not comply, writes news.ro.

The measure is the latest in a series of regulatory actions in the technology, entertainment and video game industries.

The meeting was attended by Alibaba, Tencent, ByteDance, Baidu, Huawei Technologies and Xiaomi.

The companies did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

China’s Internet is dominated by a number of huge technology companies, which over time have blocked each other’s links and services on their platforms, creating what analysts have described as “fenced gardens.”
