Aircraft crash investigator China The Eastern Boeing 737-800, which crashed last March, suspects the plane was deliberately rammed from the cockpit and plunged sharply into the hills of Guangxi.
Report Wall Street Journal via Reuters citing an initial assessment of US officials, said flight data from one of the plane’s black boxes indicated someone in the cockpit intentionally crashed the Boeing 737-800.
One of the sources said investigators were looking into whether the crash was “deliberate”.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China, Boeing Co BA.N, the jet maker and the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), declined to comment on the matter.
Meanwhile, China Eastern in an official statement only said there was no evidence that could determine whether there was a problem with the plane or not.
The chairman of the NTSB, Jennifer Hommeny, said the investigative board and Boeing traveled to China to assist with the investigation.
The NTSB is assisting Chinese investigators with reviewing black boxes in a Washington laboratory.
Until now, he continued, the team had not found any security issues that needed immediate action.

The final report on the cause of the plane crash could take two years or more. Analysts say some accidents are caused by a mix of human and technical factors.

The China Eastern plane crashed on March 21. All passengers, totaling 123 people, died at the scene.
According to authorities, when the plane appeared to be descending sharply, the pilot did not respond to repeated calls from air traffic controllers and nearby aircraft.
As a result of the accident, China Eastern had grounded the entire fleet of 737-800 aircraft. However, in the middle of Aril, the flight was resumed.
