Child’s Hand Caught in KRL Door at Jakarta’s Manggarai Station: Passengers Panic

A child passenger’s hand is caught in the electric rail car door (KRL) at Manggarai Station, South Jakarta (Jaksel). The incident had made other passengers hysterical because they felt sorry for the boy.

The incident occurred during rush hour. A passenger reported that the incident occurred on Monday (17/4/2023) this morning.

“Yes, it’s true what happened today when I left for work this morning. The train from Bogor headed for Jakarta City. It happened at Manggarai Station,” said Hendro when asked for confirmation detikcom.

From the video shared by Hendro, it looks like the passengers KRL another tried to free the boy’s hand that was pinned on the KRL door. The child who looks under five years old (toddler) is in a position being carried by a man who is suspected to be his parent.

Seen in the video, the atmosphere in Manggarai Station in the middle of crowded passengers both inside the KRL and on the platform.

He said the boy did not cry even though his hand was caught in the KRL door. However, the boy occasionally screamed in pain.
