Children can ride the ferry between New Jersey and Manhattan for free during the Christmas season

NEW YORK — This is good news for little ones and their parents during the holiday season.

And NY Waterway announced that from Friday, November 24 to Monday, January 1, children will be able to travel for free on all of the agency’s ferry routes between New Jersey and Manhattan. A maximum of two children under 12 years of age will be allowed to travel accompanied by an adult as a passenger.

This would be an opportunity for families to transport themselves and enjoy the best of Manhattan’s Christmas festivities, from the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree to Broadway shows and skating in Central Park. This special promotion is NY Waterway’s gift to families looking forward to enjoying all the city has to offer this holiday season.

“Con Kids Ride Free“We hope to give more families the opportunity to enjoy a safe and enjoyable way to travel to the city,” said Armand Pohan, president and CEO of NY Waterway. “Everyone should be able to enjoy the city during the holiday season and we want to make our part to help every family do so.

Ferry service operates 7 days a week and NY Waterway operates free shuttles from the Midtown terminal to many tourist attraction areas. New Jersey ferry terminals offer low-cost parking or free parking. Passengers can also reach many NY Waterway terminals via the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Line, NJ TRANSIT, and free NY Waterway buses.

Please remember that the ticketing policy for free service is two children can ride free for each paying adult passenger. For more information go here.
