[Reporter Wu Liangyi/Taipei Report]The Consumer Protection Department of the Executive Yuan issued a warning today (10th) that the “PATRULL KLAMMA” and “PATRULL SMIDIG” child safety doors sold by IKEA may cause children to fall down the stairs and be injured .
The Consumer Protection Department stated that due to insufficient friction between the two products and the wall, they may be displaced and collapsed when impacted by external forces, causing children to fall down the stairs and be injured. About 58,000 units have been recalled in the United States.

The two child safety door frames are white and are made of steel and plastic. They are 29 inches high and 29 to 34 inches wide (adjustable). There is a problem with the door screw. The bottom metal bar is affixed with a US product number label. The recalled product numbers are as follows: 302-265-21, 500-375-67, 501-919-50, 655-517-10, 700-989-65, 901-136-01; about 5490 sets were sold in Taiwan.
The Consumer Protection Department said that so far, this child safety door has received 18 complaints worldwide, including three cases of injuries caused by children falling down the stairs.
Taiwan’s IKEA (IKEA) company has stopped selling the product, and can accept a refund and get a full refund; although there are no relevant customer complaints or accidents, and IKEA has also proactively announced relevant recall information on its website.
