A child found a hand grenade in a playground in Eindhoven on Wednesday afternoon. The child then alerted officers who happened to be in the area.
The incident happened in a playground in the Van der Helststraat in Eindhoven. The officers then called in a police explosives scout.
The Defense Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service (EOD) was then called in. He took the grenade with him.
It is not clear how the grenade ended up in the playground. A spokesperson tells NU.nl that it is a modern grenade, not one from the Second World War. The police cannot share more details.
