The Chief Minister of Gibraltar, Fabian Picardohas indicated in statements to the GBC, the Gibraltar public television, that Pedro Sanchezacting president of the Government of Spain, conveyed his congratulations on his electoral victory last Friday morning, shortly after the vote count was known.
The re-elected chief minister said Sánchez, as “leader of the socialist party in Spain” sent him a message of WhatsApp “to the leader of the socialist party of Gibraltar.”
Picardo also asked Pedro Sánchez after the elections to put himself Let’s get to work to be re-elected and that together they could finish and tie the ongoing negotiations on the Treaty between the United Kingdom and the European Union on its relationship with Gibraltar after Brexit.
