Tapachula, Chiapas; October 24, 2021.- Breast cancer is one of the most common diseases in the Mexican female population and occupies the first place in gynecological mortality, which occurs more frequently in women over 40 years of age.
Juan Manuel Carbonel Campos, a specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics, announced in an interview for EL ORBE that in Chiapas cancer has been registered less frequently compared to other States.
“Taking into account what happens in the Mexican Republic, Chiapas is already the second entity with the lowest mortality associated with gynecological cancer,” he pointed out.
In addition, he thought that it is important to create a culture of prevention, where all studies are aimed at detecting cancer in early stages and can receive timely treatment.
He explained that, from the age of 25, they come to carry out a clinical check-up and any abnormality in their breasts can be evaluated and detected, for which he recommended that at the beginning of menstruation, in adolescence, a monthly check-up be made.
This, to prevent this disease from progressing and preventive studies are also carried out for women over 45 years of age.
“Emphasize those women under 25 if they detect any normality such as a point, changes in skin color, deformation, a lump in the nipple area or discharge,” said the doctor.
There are risk factors for breast cancer to develop, he indicated. For this reason, he recommended that they be explored and go to a specialist. THE ORB / Nelson Bautista
