Chennai: Police Inspector suspended for derogatory remarks against Muslims and Christians

Chennai. Inspector P Rajendran of Chennai Police, who made derogatory remarks against Muslims and Christians, has been suspended. He allegedly shared an audio on friends’ WhatsApp and made a comment hurting religious sentiments. This audio clip went viral on social media and when senior police officers came to know about it, they took immediate action and suspended the Traffic Investigation Inspector. P Rajendran is a 1999 batch Inspector.

According to information, a video song was shared by retired SSI Christopher in the WhatsApp group of police officers. One side was criticized in this. Hurt by this, P Rajendran had said in an audio message that such songs should not be shared in the group. Here Rajendran had also said some other things in the audio message. He had said that do not create disturbance using such religion. This audio clip went viral on social media. Now he was suspended pending the investigation.

Clip went viral on social media, departmental inquiry started
Joint Commissioner Traffic NM Mayilvahanan told that P Rajendran has been suspended on the orders of Chennai City Police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore. Departmental inquiry has been started in this regard. He said that the voice note is going viral on social media and taking cognizance of it, action has been taken.
