A big fire broke out at the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant. Local residents say they heard an explosion before the fire, reports SHOT.
Footage posted online showed a powerful blaze. According to SHOT the oil transformer blew up. The alleged accident is due to a short circuit.
At the moment, outdoor burning on an area of 40 square meters has already been liquidated.
There are no reports of casualties. Local residents reported power and water outages near the plant.
It should be noted that the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant is supplier of important components for the enterprises of the defense concern “Uralvagonzavod”.
In particular, it manufactures engines for the T-72, T-90 Proriv tanks, the Terminator tank support combat vehicle and the Akatsia, Msta-S and Coalition-SV self-propelled artillery installations.
