Todd Boehly, Chelsea’s new co-owner, dared to predict a 3-0 victory for his team in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against Real Madrid, but lost 2-0 when visiting the Spanish capital.
Now the co-owner of the English club should cross their fingers for a win with at least that margin when the teams meet again this Tuesday in the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
The Champions represents the lifeline for the London club to obtain a title in the first year after the acquisition by Boehly and the Clearlake Capital fund, and essentially the only way to qualify for the next edition of the European tournament.
