The holidays are coming up and millions of New Yorkers are preparing to travel by road to reunite with their families this Thanksgiving, but all that joy may be tarnished when you stop to fill up.

Gasoline prices hit their highest price in the past seven years leading up to the holiday weekend, according to a recent AAA report.

As of November 17, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States was $ 3.41.

Last year, gas prices hovered around $ 2.12 a gallon just before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Data from AAA shows that the average price of a gallon of gas in New York City was around $ 3.68 as of Thursday. Average prices are updated daily.

AS OF THURSDAY, THESE ARE THE AVERAGE PRICES PER GALLON FOR EACH OF THE FIVE COUNTIES, LISTED FROM HIGHEST TO LOWEST:

Manhattan: $ 3,88

Queens: $ 3.64

The Bronx: $ 3.63

Staten Island: $3,619

Meanwhile, southern states, including Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kentucky, enjoy the lowest gas prices in the country, ranging from $ 2.99 to $ 3.18 per gallon.
