The Puerto Rican singer Chayanne turned 52 this Sunday, June 28, “grateful for life,” as he explained through his social networks.

“Thank you for all the birthday greetings. I am extremely grateful to life and happy to be able to share with my family. I send you a big hug and all my love … to enjoy the good things in life,” says the text on your official Instagram account.

The message of the Puerto Rican singer, whose first name is Elmer Figueroa, is accompanied by an image of the artist posing behind a cake with images of his native island, where he was born in Río Piedras (north), like maracas or a coquí (a frog small of the island) and buildings of Old San Juan.

The text and image have a “like” from his compatriot and fellow professional Ricky Martin or a Happy Birthday from Yandel.

He is the son of Irma Luz Arce, a high school teacher, and Quintino Figueroa, a sales manager, and he has four brothers: Kenny, Clara, Elliot and Noel.

Chayanne’s nickname came from his mother, who named him after the reference to a 1960s American television series, Cheyenne.

His musical career began in 1978 when he joined the group Los Chicos, with whom he recorded four albums, but, after five years, he separated from the famous group.

When he turned 17 he began his career as a solo singer and has been on the rise to this day.

He is married to Venezuelan Marilisa Maronesse and has two children, Lorenzo Valentino and Isadora Sofía.
