From Monday October 23

Work on the gas network will be carried out at the Danièle Casanova bridge. Pedestrian traffic on this bridge will switch to the sidewalk on the station side, for a period of two weeks.

From Monday October 30

This second phase, lasting two weeks, will consist of the destruction of the central islands of the bridge and the replacement of the two roundabouts on the Mainvilliers side by just one. During this period, the two traffic lanes of the bridge on the station side will be closedbus and light vehicle traffic will therefore pass in two directions on the Compa side, and pedestrian traffic will also switch to the Compa side.

The rue Philarète-Chasles will be blocked in the Chartres – Mainvilliers direction, a diversion will be created at rue de la République.

November – December 2023

At the end of the year, a temporary roundabout will be installed at the Coliseum car park exit. It will connect the Casanova bridge to rue de l’Epargne, République and Philarète-Chasles (which will again be accessible for vehicles coming from Chartres).

Traffic for buses, light vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained on the southern lanes of the bridge (Compa side).

January 2024

At the start of 2024, the developments will concern the demolition of existing road between the two current roundabouts on the Mainvilliers side, work will also be planned on the rainwater networks, curbs and gutters.

Vehicles will once again be able to travel across the entire bridge, with pedestrians still on the south side. Access to rue de la République and de l’Epargne for vehicles coming from the Casanova bridge will be blocked (except for local residents).

Parking will be prohibited on rue de l’Epargne between Concorde and Prévoyance, and rue de la République.

February 2024

The month of February will be dedicated to transformation of rue Philarète-Chaslesnear Compa.

During this period, vehicles wishing to head from the Casanova bridge towards Mainvilliers will have to take a detour via Rue de la République. Pedestrian traffic on the bridge will remain unchanged.

Mars 2024

In order to continue the transformation of rue Philarète-Chasles, new diversions will be installed:

Vehicles coming from Chartres towards Mainvilliers will no longer be able to use the Casanova bridge and will have to go via rue du Faubourg-Saint-Jean. For those coming from Mainvilliers, the bridge will still be accessible. Buses will travel in both directions, and pedestrians will use the sidewalk on the north side of the bridge.

In April, May and June, the work will have no impact on traffic.

July 2024

In order to carry out work on the bridge roads, the same diversion as in March will be installed.

It will concern light vehicles, but also buses, which will therefore have to pass through rue du Faubourg-Saint-Jean.

August 2024

Phases 8 and 9 of the project will be installed in August 2024, with road work around the bridge, between rue Danièle-Casanova and Pierre Nicole.

During this period, the bridge will only be accessible to pedestrians, on the sidewalk on the Compa side. The diversion for light vehicles and buses will remain the same as in July.

Phase 9 will take place over a week, at night, with the final coatings and the installation of street furniture.

September 2024

Bus users, drivers and pedestrians will once again be able to travel in both directions on the Casanova bridge.
