Chartres: L214 protests in front of Burger King against the conditions of chicken farming

Activists from the animal rights association L214 demonstrated, this Saturday, December 11, in front of the Burger King fast food restaurant in Chartres, to encourage the brand to sign a European charter setting standards in order to limit the suffering of chickens from breeding, and to sensitize consumers to the ill-being of chickens which, according to them, are used in their menus.

Dressed in the association’s colors, they had signs in their arms with photos of intensive chicken farms, sick animals, etc.

These Eurelian activists want Burger King to commit to the European chicken commitment, which consists of eradicating the worst of chicken farming and slaughtering practices.

The “European chicken commitment” has already been signed by brands such as Sodexo, KFC, Pain Quotidien, Danone or Ikea, according to the charter’s website.

“A few weeks ago, we demonstrated in front of Lidl. Since then, the brand has signed this charter,” said an activist in the Madeleine district on Saturday.
