CHARTRES – Festival international d’Orgue : Gabriele Agrimonti

Born in Parma (Italy) in 1995, Gabriele AGRIMONTI discovered the organ at the age of 11 and entered Mario Verdicchio’s class at the “A. Boito” Conservatory in Parma the following year. He graduated with the highest grade cum laude and the unanimous honorable mention of the jury.

At only 13 years old, he was appointed co-holder of the Basilica of Santa Maria della Steccata in Parma with the holder Ugo Leoni.

In 2016 he was admitted to the Paris Conservatory in improvisation classes in organ and writing (composition in style) with renowned teachers such as Thierry Escaich, Laszló Fassang, Thomas Ospital, Thomas Lacôte, Yves Henri, Olivier Trachier …

Through his participation in numerous masterclasses he receives advice from personalities from the world of the organ, including Olivier Latry, Jean Guillou, Yanka Hékimova, Baptiste-Florian Marle-Ouvrard, Henri-Franck Beaupérin…

In 2017 he won the Grand Prize for Improvisation in the international Marchal-Litaize competition in Paris, the following year he was a finalist in the international competition in Harleem (Netherlands).

In July 2019, he was the first Italian to win the first prize (Tournemire Prize) from the prestigious international improvisation competition in St-Albans (England).

He also won 1st prize at the Boellmann-Gigout improvisation competition in Strasbourg.

His career has led him to perform everywhere in France and abroad.

His repertoire extends from the Renaissance to modern music, while leaving a large part to improvisation.

It is also associated with other artistic disciplines such as cinema or dance.
