By Saturday, Zandvoort’s trajectory was covered with used rubber, but the asphalt outside remained dirty: the wind brought sand and after the support races there were many fragments of worn tires.
The teams continued the work started the day before with the tires: Pirelli staged more rigid compositions than in the four previous Grands Prix and on Friday not everyone was able to get the tires in optimal mode.
The session went well. Ricciardo crashed on the gravel at Turn 12 without any repercussions for the car. Leclerc damaged the bottom on the curb, everything was checked in the pits and started again. On Norris and Ricciardo’s cars, during the session, the mechanics changed the suspension settings.
At the end of the session, Gasly took off in the ninth corner, knocking down a block of foam with the distance from the corner – and returned to the pits.
Charles Leclerc took the lead with a time of 1: 11.632. The results were solid, the qualifying fight will be interesting.
