Charged Launches Three New Electric Motorbike Variants in Indonesia

Jakarta

Charged officially launched three new variants of electric motorbikes in Indonesia, namely Rimau Bumblebee, Rimau Ecru and Maleo Latte. All three are electric products developed with the two-wheeled giant from China, Vmoto.

The launch felt even more special thanks to the presence of former MotoGP world champion, Jorge Lorenzo. As a reminder, Lorenzo has been the Vmoto brand ambassador (BA) since 2021.

Chief Executive Officer of Charged Indonesia, Joel CY Chang, said that air pollution is a problem that must be fought together in Indonesia, especially in big cities. That is why the company focuses on presenting environmentally friendly vehicles and production spaces.

“The solution for most parts of Indonesia and Southeast Asia is to accelerate the transition to electric motorbikes. The challenge is to provide a good alternative in terms of performance, mileage, quality and safety,” said Chang in Ancol, North Jakarta, Wednesday (18/10) .

It is known that Rimau and Maleo have actually been sold in Indonesia since last year. The vehicle is produced locally in Cikupa, South Tangerang. However, in the special edition launched in Ancol, the manufacturer gave the ride a new touch.

Rimau Bumblebee comes with a yellow-black color typical of the imaginative characters in the Transformer films. Rimau Ecru comes in calm colors and Maleo Latte with sportier accents. Apart from the appearance, there is nothing new about the vehicle. Everything is still the same as the regular version.

Rimau Bumblebee and Ecru use batteries with a range of 200 kilometers with two batteries. Meanwhile the top speed is 95 km/hour with torque of 165 Nm. The vehicle takes three hours to charge the battery from 10 to 100 percent.

Then Maleo Latte is the cheapest model marketed by Charged in Indonesia. The electric motorbike can travel 125 km on one battery and has a maximum speed of 70 km/hour.

Rimau Bumblebee and Ecru are priced at IDR 40.8 million, while Maleo Latte is IDR 34.8 million. Both have OTR Jakarta status and are equipped with one battery.
