THE RULES
The draw formula remains that of the last few seasons: the group winners will be the seeded, while the runners-up will be included in pot 2. Teams that have already faced each other in the groups, and those of the same country, will not be able to compete in the second round: a “stake” that will no longer be valid from the quarter-finals. The seeded teams will face the return match at home.
THE POSSIBLE ADVERSARY OF ITALIANS
The Juventus, winner of the group after the beautiful victory in Barcelona and therefore seeded, has five possible opponents, all affordable for Pirlo’s team: Leipzig, Porto, Sevilla, Borussia Moenchengladbach and Atletico Madrid. Simeone’s team is the most formidable rival for the Old Lady.
