“Challenges Facing the Launch of Community Schools Initiative Explained by UAE Minister”

Her Excellency Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Community Development, confirmed the existence of challenges that led to the delay in launching the third phase of the community schools project. This came during her response to a question submitted by a member of the Federal National Council, Sumaya Abdullah Al Suwaidi during the eleventh session held today 9 questions, including
Two questions about the “Community Schools Initiative” and the services of the “Early Intervention Center in Ras Al Khaimah Center for the Disabled”, from member Sumaya Al Suwaidi.
Her Excellency stressed, in detail, that the initiative was launched through a joint effort between the school community and the local community, with the aim of benefiting from the advanced infrastructure of schools, and providing a safe and beneficial social and family environment for students and their families that supports community cohesion and communication between families, as the initiative includes the provision of social, sports and cultural programmes. for all family members.

It identified 3 challenges for stopping the initiative and delaying the launch of the third phase of the community schools project, which included providing an additional budget allocated for the project to cover the costs of logistical equipment for the project and providing the necessary tools for programs, maintenance and operational matters, and the absence of an approved mechanism to motivate the educational staff to participate in the initiative, in addition to the momentum of the school calendar with activities. Academy, which hinders family members from participating in the initiative’s activities.
The Council has begun discussing draft laws referred by the committees, including a draft federal law regarding the organization of places of worship for non-Muslims, and a draft system of parliamentary values.
