Česká spořitelna wants to take over Waldviertler Sparkasse in the Czech Republic

“The intention of the savings bank is to take over the Czech branches and business of Waldviertler Sparkasse (WSPK CZ) and to integrate them into the network of Česká spořitelna at the beginning of next year,” said Hrubý. In addition to the Office, the transaction must also be authorized by the Czech National Bank.

According to Česká spořitelna, both banks signed an agreement on a future contract.

“We plan to buy WSPK CZ as a functioning unit, ie all its clients, contracts, employees, know-how, branches or supplier relations,” said Wolfgang Schopf, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Česká spořitelna.

Waldviertler Sparkasse is an Austrian regional bank from the Austrian savings bank group Sparkassengruppe. It has been operating in the Czech Republic since 1994, with a total of seven branches in southern Bohemia, Vysočina and South Moravia.

Česká spořitelna is the largest bank in the Czech Republic in terms of the number of clients it had 4.5 million at the end of the first half of the year. The owner of Česká spořitelna is the Austrian financial group Erste Group Bank.
