César Azpilicueta has played against Cristiano Ronaldo for more than 11 years.
And the Chelsea captain will want to avoid a repeat of what happened when they met in La Liga in May 2010.
Azpilicueta said: «I played against him when I was at Osasuna and he was at Real Madrid.
“I don’t remember the score. Maybe at the Bernabéu we lost!
In fact, they did. Osasuna quickly took the lead, but Ronaldo tied after twisting an equally cool Azpilicueta from side to side and then fired with a low shot.
The score was 2-2 at halftime and stayed that way until Ronaldo led a winner in the 89th minute.
Most recently, in the 2018 World Cup group stage, Azpilicueta was watching from the Spanish bench when Ronaldo scored a hat-trick with a late free kick for Portugal in a 3-3 draw.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has maintained that happy habit of scoring crucial goals in the final minutes since joining United.

Azpilicueta added: “He is a player who can be dangerous at any moment, so you have to be very careful.
“He has a great ability to find spaces, he can shoot left and right and he is a very good header.
“We are lucky to be in the best league in the world, to play against very tough opponents. Every day you face different challenges.
“Being part of the time when we face Cristiano and Messi is great, but you always have to be on your guard because they are very dangerous.”
