Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China Promotes Two Generals in Unprecedented Move

[Voice of Hope December 26, 2023](Comprehensive report by our reporter Yang Zheng) The Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China promoted two generals on December 25. This is the fourth time this year that the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China has held a general promotion ceremony. The record for the most number of attacks in a single year in 35 years also exposed the unusual movements of the CCP’s military.

According to the Xinhua News Agency, the official media of the Communist Party of China, a promotion ceremony for the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China to the rank of general was held at the Bayi Building in Beijing on the 25th. The leader of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping, attended the promotion ceremony.

Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, read out the order signed by Xi Jinping for promotion to the rank of general. He Weidong, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, presided over the promotion ceremony.

The officers promoted to the rank of general this time are: Wang Wenquan, political commissar of the Southern Theater Command of the Communist Party of China, and Hu Zhongming, commander of the Chinese Communist Navy. Both men’s new positions have been disclosed for the first time.

Some media pointed out that there are several abnormalities in the promotion of two generals in the Chinese Communist Army.

Wang Wenquan’s predecessor, Wang Jianwu, was born in August 1958 and reached the retirement age of 65 in August 2023. Wang Wenquan did not take over in August, but waited 4 months before being promoted. The timing may have political considerations.

Hu Zhongming’s predecessor, Dong Jun, was born in 1961. He is 62 years old this year and has not reached the retirement age. He was promoted to the commander of the Chinese Communist Party’s Navy in August 2021 and was promoted to the rank of navy admiral in September of the same year. I don’t know whether Dong Jun’s resignation as navy commander is a blessing or a curse.

Recently, there have been frequent earthquakes at the top level of the Chinese Communist Party’s military. Many high-ranking generals, including Wei Fenghe and Li Shangfu, two-term defense ministers of the Chinese Communist Party, have been dismissed from their posts or disappeared. It is unknown whether Dong Jun has followed in his footsteps.

But there is also news that Dong Jun may be the successor after Li Shangfu resigned.

Other analysts believe that Xi Jinping was promoted to general four times this year in a record-breaking manner in order to declare military power within the party. Under his leadership, the CCP has been plunged into internal and external troubles, increasingly isolated internationally, the domestic economy is in depression, and high-level personnel within the party are in violent turmoil. It has shaken Xi Jinping’s authority.

Previously, at the Democratic Life Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China held from December 21 to 22, Xi Jinping, in addition to emphasizing the maintenance of the party’s centralized and unified leadership, also rarely mentioned “democratic centralism”, and was accused of trying to blame the crisis faced by the CCP. To all Politburo members, “Let us die together.”

The most important means used by the CCP to rule the people is deception. Maintaining large-scale broadcasts to China to continuously convey the truth is to continue to inject hope into China. Voice of Hope invites you to join us in our efforts.welcomeClickLearn more.
