Elijah Wood played Frodo in the Lord of the Rings movies. In a podcast, he comes up with a special revelation.
– One of the orcs was designed to look like Harvey Weinstein, says Elijah Wood in the podcast Armchair Expert.
It must have been director Peter Jackson who decided to create a ork inspired by Weinstein’s appearance.
– It was done as a “fuck you” to Weinstein, the actor claims.

Harvey Weinstein was for many years one of Hollywood’s most powerful men, but during the metoo settlement there were several serious accusations against the once powerful man. A number of women told how they had been sexually exploited by the man. Weinstein has apologized for his behavior, but has denied that he did anything illegal.
The podcast reveals that director Peter Jackson first started work on the Lord of the Rings films in a company owned by Weinstein. The collaboration cut, among other things after Weinstein allegedly demanded that the three books written by JRR Tolkien should end in one film – not three.
Weinstein is also said to have threatened to replace Peter Jackson as director in favor of either Quentin Tarantino or John Madden.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy is one of history’s biggest film successes and has grossed over 20 billion kroner worldwide.
Harvey Weinstein was credited as “executive producer” in the caption of the films, but not as a source of inspiration for the dreaded orcs.
