CDA MP Van Dam states that almost all places of worship in the Netherlands behave sensibly ‘by being very reluctant to deal with celebrations and services’. “It is a pity that this denomination does not set that example. Even with the necessary restrictions, justice can be done in these difficult times to the fundamental right of religious freedom. ”
The Christian Democrat also regrets that ‘the exception sets the picture’. “The right to freedom of religion does not relieve you of the obligation to deal with it appropriately and safely. Very bad example of this. ”
‘Incomprehensible’, D66 foreman Jetten calls the decision to keep the services. “Many churches, mosques and synagogues are taking their responsibility in the corona crisis. Not this church.
