“Schaldinger solution” for the successful U23 of SV Schalding: The 29-year-old regional league player Christian Brückl joins Christopher Pauli’s team in the district league team. He thus fills the vacant position that was created by Manuel Mörtlbauer moving up to the first team.

“Because of the longstanding knee problems and the surgery last year, my body simply says no to the Regionalliga effort,” Brückl is quoted in a press release. “I hope that it will go on soon and that the first will make it to the league as soon as possible.” Brückl was already player coach at FC Vilshofen in the district league Passau in the 2018/19 season. Now he is looking forward to “a responsible job.”

For Christian Brückl this closes a circle – with the second team of SV Schalding, he made it from the district class into the district league almost ten years ago and scored 23 regional leagues for the green and whites in his higher-class career. In the current season he scored once in the 4-0 win over Aubstadt.

With Manuel Mörtlbauer, the Regionalliga team from Stefan Köck has an already integrated player in the squad. Mörtlbauer was already a component in the regional league this season and is therefore now firmly included in the squad. “We are very happy that we were able to find a solution within the association. With Manuel and Christian, we have two people who know the association from A to Z by heart and who pursue the structures and goals of the SVS,” says department head Michael Sonndorfer. “Manuel has been able to express his class as a player and coach in the U23 for many years. With his appearances in the regional league, he has also proven that it will now be the right step in his career. Christian has also been a very long time deserved player of the SVS and shaped the successful times of the SVS. Now we want to enable him to take his next step in the coaching career. “

Manuel Mörtlbauer is also looking forward to his new step in the regional league squad: “Taking the step from now on was not an easy decision. It was not a decision against the U23, but more of a personal wish. I am very happy that the club is doing so I am looking forward to the new task and the experience that I can gain as a player. I feel physically fit and can now work well with regional league football, “said Mörtlbauer.

In terms of personnel, Schalding’s second guard is still well positioned: in addition to the young players who are moving up, all the tried and tested personnel are still available, with the exception of Thomas Schacherbauer (return to DJK Vornbach). − red
