Anastasis Manioudakis, son of Kostis Manioudakis, who died during a police check in Crete, spoke to documentonews.grfor the important developments concerning his father’s case.
Initially, he referred to the motion of the deputy prosecutor of First Instance to call the four police officers who were in control, to give explanations without trial on the charge of “manslaughter with probable intent in a calm state of mind together”.
He then revealed an important element which is the loss of the videos from the camera of a business which was located near the police checkpoint. As he complains, the loss of the audio-visual material is due to the rejection of the family’s request by the Prosecutor to freeze this material, with the result that when the owners of the material were later called, these videos no longer exist.
Apart from these, Anastasis Manioudakis mentions that the first investigation into the incident involved both of the four police officers involved, with what this may mean for its credibility and for the real willingness of the police to solve the case.
Finally, the son of Kostis Manioudakis comments on the wave of solidarity and thanks the people who support the family in the case, considering that the movement is the decisive reason that this development was achieved.
