Case of Edhy Prabowo, KPK Seizes Singer Betty Elista’s Newspaper Account

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated a checking account belonging to singer Betty Elista related to the alleged bribery case related to the export license for lobster seeds in Marine and Fisheries Ministry.

Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri said there was an alleged flow of money from the former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. Edhy Prabowo to that account.

“The KPK investigators returned to examine witness Betty Elista. As for the person concerned, a bank checking account was allegedly confiscated from the suspect EP (Edhy Prabowo) through suspect AM (Amiril Mukminin),” Ali said as quoted from the statement. Among, Thursday (18/3/2021).

Previously, the KPK investigated Betty on Wednesday (17/3/2021). Investigators are investigating the flow of money from Edhy to Betty.

The money was given through Amiril Mukminin, who at that time was Edhy’s personal secretary.

In this case, the KPK has named seven suspects as recipients of bribes.

The seven suspects, namely, Edhy Prabowo, Edhy’s Special Staff and Deputy Chief Executive of the Due Diligence Team Safri and Andreau Misanta Pribadi.

Then, Amiril Mukminin, management of PT Aero Citra Kargo, Siswadi, and Ainul Faqih as staff of Edhy’s wife.

Meanwhile, the suspect who gave the bribe, namely the Director of PT Dua Putra Perkasa, Suharjito, is currently a defendant and is currently in trial at the Corruption Court in Jakarta.

Suharjito was charged with paying bribes worth a total of Rp2.146 billion consisting of US $ 103 thousand (around Rp1.44 billion) and Rp.706,055,440 to Prabowo.
