Casablanca Stock Exchange: key points of the Q2-2020 quarterly summary

Casablanca – Here are the key points of the quarterly summary which analyzes the performance of the Casablanca Stock Exchange during the second quarter of 2020:

– The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the second quarter of 2020 in strong rise, its two main indices, Masi and Madex, gaining 4.78% and 4.82%, respectively.

– The Masi, a global index made up of all equity-type stocks, stood at 10,169.19 points, bringing its annual performance to -16.45%, and the Madex, a compact index made up of continuously listed stocks. ” posted at 8,256.56 points for an annual performance of -16.76%.

– The FTSE CSE Morocco 15 gained 7.31% to 9,177.36 points and the FTSE Morocco All-Liquid appreciated by 5.29% during Q2-2020 to 8,696.41 points.

– The Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) benchmark “Casablanca ESG 10” followed the same positive trajectory, thus accumulating 753.65 points, up 1.52%.

– 16 sectors moved up, 8 ended at half mast.

– The “software and IT services” sector (+ 29.21%) took the biggest increase at the sectoral level, followed by “transport services” (+23.87) and the “Food industry” (+ 16.63%).

– On the downside, the “Forestry and Paper” compartment fell by 20.46%, as did “Utilities” (-10.53%) and “Engineering and industrial capital goods” (-9 , 60%).

– The market capitalization amounted to nearly 523.9 billion dirhams (MMDH), while the overall volume amounted to more than 12.7 MMDH.

– On an individual level, Managem rose by 41.78%, Dari Couspate, HPS and Microdata increased by 33.28%, 30.90% and 30.43%.

– Delattre levivier Maroc depreciated by 37.81%, Med Paper dropped 20.46% and Salafin -15.47%.

– Recalling more than 23% of the transaction volume of the BVC, i.e. 2.06 MMDH, Attijariwafa Bank was by far the most active value in Q2-2020, followed by Itissalat Al-Maghrib (10.77%) and Cements from Morocco (10.6%).
