Casablanca airport crosses the bar of 10 million passengers

Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca crossed Thursday for the first time in its history, the bar of 10 million passengers.

A ceremony was organized on this occasion at the initiative of the Moroccan Airports Office and the Moroccan civil aviation company, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) to welcome the 10 millionth passenger who came on board RAM flight AT 205, from Miami, a new RAM destination launched last April.

Thus, the national company offered the 10 millionth passenger a business class plane ticket on its international network.

ONDA Director General Mohammed El Aoufir said that his department is proud to celebrate with “our passengers this historic milestone, which testifies to the attractiveness enjoyed by Mohammed V airport”, adding that this performance was possible thanks to the positive synergy with Royal Air Maroc as well as with the entire airport community.

For its part, the CEO of RAM, Hamid Addou, affirmed that this record indicates the dynamic started in the last four years at Casablanca Mohammed V airport “thanks to the exemplary cooperation between ONDA and Royal Air Maroc which put all the resources to make this airport a reference hub connecting Africa to the rest of the world through Morocco. “

Morocco’s leading airport platform, Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, receives more than 40% of the volume of air traffic carried by all Moroccan airports.

Air traffic at Mohammed V airport experienced sustained growth between 2009 and 2018 with an annual average change of around 5% for passenger traffic and 2.5% for aircraft movements.
