Cáritas will accompany 12,000 people this year to improve their access to employment thanks to the European Social Fund

Cáritas Española has just resolved the call for 2022 of the Operational Program for Social Inclusion and the Social Economy (POISES) co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) and endowed with a total budget of 15,521,811.34 euros.

These funds will support 50 socio-labour integration projects, more than 250 socio-labour training courses and 26 insertion companies throughout the country.

Of this important volume of resources, 6,221,598.92 euros will be allocated to projects for the social and occupational integration of vulnerable individuals; another 7,043,058.00 euros for training actions; and the remaining 1,273,978.85 euros to social economy projects, mainly integration companies

These resources, which are part of the POISES 2020-23 tender and whose development is coordinated through the Solidarity Economy Team of Caritas Española, make it possible to support the programs for employment, training and the social economy of 57 diocesan Caritas from all over Spain.

The goal set by Cáritas for 2022 through the Operational Program will make it possible to accompany around 5,000 participants in socio-employment integration courses, around 4,000 in training actions and another 180 in insertion companies.

The resources of the European Social Fund that Cáritas has been managing since 2000 make it possible to support access to the world of work for groups at risk of social exclusion and enhance employment as the best means of advancing towards autonomy and personal inclusion.

POISES has been active since 2016 with the support of the European Social Fund. In our country it is implemented under the responsibility of the Spanish government through the ESF administrative unit of the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Social Security.
