Care center Wellenshof in Liessel in Brabant was evacuated on Monday evening due to a large fire that has been raging in the adjacent Deurnese Peel nature reserve since Monday afternoon. A number of the 24 clients are infected with the corona virus, the municipality of Deurne reports.
All residents have been transferred to a care location in Weert. The infected persons were transported in a special ambulance bus. The other clients were transferred by taxis. According to the municipality, the evacuation went smoothly and smoothly. Nobody was injured.
In the nature reserve, located on the border of North Brabant and Limburg, approximately 100 hectares of nature caught fire on Monday afternoon. The wind allowed the fire to spread quickly, which made extinguishing more difficult.

A large fire also raged on Monday afternoon in National Park De Meinweg in North Limburg. The fire brigade gave the signal there at around 6.45 p.m. Half an hour later, the fire flared up again, forcing firefighters to take action again.
