The car in which the men were riding took off from Oisterwijk in the direction of Haaren. They continued their journey, according to the police at a dangerously high speed, via Boxtel and Esch to the A2 towards Eindhoven. On the highway, officers tried to stop the trio several times in vain. The car drove right past police cars.

On the Willibrorduslaan in Waalre, the police set up a roadblock. “The vehicle again does not stop and rams into several police cars.
