Car Prize for Russian Citizens If Willing to Get Vaccinated with Corona

Jakarta

Government Russia continue to intensify the vaccination of the Corona virus (COVID-19). Unmitigated, the government will give lottery numbers of cars for free to citizens who want to be vaccinated.

Reported by Reuters, Monday (14/6/2021) The Russian capital, Moscow on Sunday (13/6) local time reported 7,704 new cases of Corona. This addition was recorded as the highest daily additional cases in Moscow since December 24 last year.

Meanwhile, nationally, the government Russia reported 14,723 new cases of Corona in a day. This figure is the highest additional daily cases since February 13.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has told his citizens not to work next week to limit the spread of Corona. Effectively he set a long day off.

“This is only a temporary solution,” Sobyanin wrote in his blog on Sunday (13/6) local time.

“In order to circumvent new restrictions and secure a continued escalation of the situation, we need to significantly accelerate vaccination.”

Meanwhile, Sobyanin openly complained about the low enthusiasm of residents who were willing to be vaccinated against Corona. He did not mention the latest figures for the number of people vaccinated on Sunday (13/6) local time.

On May 21, Sobyanin said 1.3 million people out of the 12 million total population of the city of Moscow had received the first dose of injection.

To encourage citizens to want to be vaccinated, Sobyanin announced that anyone aged 18 years and over and who had received the first dose — of two doses of the Corona vaccine — from June 14 to July 11 will automatically be enrolled in a car prize draw.

Sobyanin explained that there were five cars worth 1 million rubles (Rp 197 million). Each car will be given away free of charge in a draw every week.

To be known, Russia became the first country in the world to approve a Corona vaccine for domestic use, before large-scale trials began. The country started distributing their Corona vaccine, Sputnik V, in December last year.
