A Refueling Station (gas station) is located in Biring Ere Village, Bungoro District, Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi, charred burns that resulted in two deaths.
The fire occurred when a four-wheeled vehicle that was filling up with fuel suddenly caught fire and exploded. The explosion was suspected to have been an electrical short circuit in the car.
Meanwhile, in the car there were three people who suffered quite severe burns. Two of them were killed.
From the information obtained, one died on the spot, and another died while being treated for burns.
Pangkep Police Chief, AKBP Endon Nurcahyo said the incident occurred at around 15.25 WITA, this afternoon.
“The accident is in the process of being investigated by the Pangkep Police,” said Endon when confirmed, Friday (6/8) night.
“Two victims died, male, aged 8 and 15. The owner of the vehicle suffered an injury to his temple,” he explained.
The Pangkep Regency Fire Department (Damkar) which was deployed managed to extinguish it at around 16.15 WITA.
