Car destroyed by flames on the A3 in Ponte de Lima

The former Carvalha tax post, in Vila Nova de Cerveira, is one of the 16 properties in the state that will be subject to requalification for the purposes of exploitation for tourism, whether by a public or private entity, was announced today.

The property is one of four in the district of Viana do Castelo (and the whole of Minho) included in the Revive Natura fund, in charge of Turismo de Portugal and the Government.

After a public tender, the fund will assign the rights over these properties to the winning entities for requalification and exploitation for tourism purposes, in order to “generate economic impact in the locality or region where they are located”.

Among the criteria, it is clear that the exploration is carried out by entities with headquarters or residence in the municipalities where the properties are located and, if not possible, in the neighboring municipalities.

It is also defined that the jobs to be generated must be attributed to places, without neglecting the social, environmental and innovative characteristics.

The offer of products and experiences in the territories in which they operate must also be integrated, generating a “positive impact on localities”.

In addition to the Cerveira tax post, the former Foz do Lima tax post, the former Viana do Castelo tax post and the former Amorosa tax post, are all integrated into the project, all in the municipality of Viana do Castelo.
