One of the passengers said that after the collision, everyone was asked to go to the back of the train as quickly as possible due to a fire hazard. “You could tell that the train was running over the car and parts, it shook and vibrated on all sides.”

It became quite a logistical operation, because the passengers must of course continue their journey, the spokesperson explained. “All passengers have been taken care of and have since been transported by shuttle bus to stations.”

This concerns the rail connection between Delft and Schiedam. There are barriers at the guarded road crossing. There are no trains running between Delft Campus station and Schiedam Centrum the rest of the evening, reports the Dutch Railways. How it could have happened is unclear.
