Captaincy confirms rescue of the body in the Sea

The Captain of the Port of Funchal, José Luís Guerreiro, and Commander of the Maritime Police, confirmed, in a statement, the rescue of a body “of the female gender, next to the bay of Câmara de Lobos”.

The note sent to the newsrooms reveals that the alert was given by the Maritime Police to the Funchal Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Sub-Center (MRSC Funchal), after elements of that police discovered the existence of a body floating in the water. The rescue of the body of the sea was in charge of the Sailors of Funchal’s Salva Vidas Station, who used the AMN-10-SG Barracuda vessel to rescue and transport the corpse.

The body was recovered after 4 pm and then went on board the vessel to the Port of Funchal, where it was handed over to the competent authorities and with the knowledge of the Judicial Authorities.
