The report also states that, despite the pandemic, the United States continues to be the main international market for the Mexican Caribbean, with 1.2 million tourists, almost half of the 2.5 million foreign tourists that the entity received between January and October. of this year.
The statistic also indicates that, with the recovery of air connectivity, three destinations in the United States lead the origin of international passengers who have arrived at the Cancun airport: Dallas, with 182,987; Houston, with 182,525 and Chicago, with 144,995.
In order of importance of markets for the Mexican Caribbean, Canada is the second country that has sent the most tourists to the destination with 439 thousand 698 (-48.8% compared to the January-October 2019 period); followed by the United Kingdom with 54,065 (-84.6%); France with 50,557; Argentina 47,037; Colombia 46,891; Brazil 41,778; Germany 32,786 and Spain with 24,157 travelers.
