“Cancer, a Poorly Packaged Gift: A Breast Cancer Survivor’s Mission to Help Women Detect the Disease Early”

Lina Hinestroza, is among many things, a woman who breast cancer left her many lessons and anecdotes. But also a mission, to help more women detect this disease early.

It fulfills this task through the direction of the AlmaRosa Foundation. Currently, she is exploring a new facet, being a writer: her work ‘Cancer, a poorly packaged gift’, is released tomorrow, April 25, and portrays how he found an opportunity to live in breast cancer.

In the book, Lina narrated each step she took while cancer inhabited her, from the news of the diagnosis 10 years ago to the way she transformed it into a constructive and enriching process.

One of the many purposes of the text is to motivate more patients, who, like her, had a hard time finding the light.

Walter Riso, the writer of the popular book ‘Learning to love yourself’, contributed to Lina’s work because the prologue was written by the Italian, who describes that “in each chapter there is a series of lucidity that comes to us strongly. It is not an impact only for people with breast cancer, but a life experience that deals with suffering, it does not matter if you are sick or not.”

The resources obtained from the sale of ‘Cancer, a poorly packaged gift’, will go entirely to the Foundation that Lina directs, AlmaRosa, this with the aim of encouraging more and better strategies to promote the life and well-being of women, through early detection of breast cancer. The launch will take place at Cielum Health, Medellín and there will be space for a conversation around the book.
